The historic interservice gridiron rivalry between the Army Black Knights and the Navy Midshipmen is one of the most closely contested and balanced matchups in the history of college sports. Over more than a century of fierce annual combat on the gridiron, the series win-loss record has swung through extended eras of dominance for both military academies. Navy historically holds a narrow edge in total victories across the all-time series, but Army has fiercely responded with memorable modern victories, maintaining an intensely competitive balance that defines the spirit of this legendary service academy showdown.
