Peerless is owned by Delta Faucet Company, which is itself owned by Masco Corporation. Peerless was originally founded in 1982 as an independent value faucet brand. Delta Faucet Company, headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, acquired Peerless to serve as its entry-level and value brand, allowing Delta to compete at lower price points in big box stores like Home Depot and Lowe's while protecting the Delta brand's mid-range to premium positioning. Delta Faucet Company also owns the luxury brand Brizo, launched in 2004. So Delta now has three tiers. Peerless is the value tier, with bathroom faucets costing $50 to $150 and kitchen faucets $100 to $250, sold primarily at Home Depot and mass retail. Delta is the mainstream and premium tier, costing $100 to $400, sold at Home Depot, Lowe's, and showrooms, known for Diamond Seal and Touch2O technology. Brizo is the luxury tier, costing $500 to $1,200, sold through designer showrooms. All three brands are engineered and warranted by Delta Faucet Company and manufactured in Delta's factories in Jackson, Tennessee, Greensburg, Indiana, and in Delta-controlled plants overseas. Masco Corporation, a large building products conglomerate traded on the New York Stock Exchange under MAS, has owned Delta since 1958, so ultimately Peerless is owned by Masco through Delta.
