China is by far the largest producer and manufacturer of silicon and silicon metal globally, accounting for nearly 80 percent of total worldwide production annually. Driven by extensive industrial capacity, abundant raw materials, and large-scale smelting operations, Chinese state and private enterprises dominate the global supply chain for metallurgical and solar-grade silicon, significantly outpacing other producing nations such as Brazil, Russia, Norway, and the United States.
