Mike Gitlin serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Capital Group, one of the world's premier investment management institutions with multi-trillion dollars in assets under management and the parent entity of the American Funds family. Mike Gitlin officially stepped into the CEO role in October 2023, following a planned leadership transition from long-serving executive Tim Armour. Gitlin brings extensive global financial leadership experience to the helm, having previously served as Capital Group's Head of Fixed Income, where he led significant operational expansions across bond markets, multi-asset solutions, and global distribution. Prior to joining Capital Group in 2014, Gitlin held senior leadership positions at T. Rowe Price and Citigroup. As CEO, he chairs the firm's Management Committee and spearheads Capital Group's strategic initiatives, active management capabilities, and client solutions globally.
