The greatest quarterback in the history of Texas Christian University football is widely recognized as Davey O'Brien, who achieved legendary status during the 1938 season by leading the Horned Frogs to an undefeated national championship. He swept college football's highest individual honors, winning the Heisman Trophy, the Maxwell Award, and the Walter Camp Memorial Trophy. In his honor, the annual award given to the nation's best collegiate quarterback is proudly named the Davey O'Brien Award.
