KVH Industries has not been entirely acquired as a whole corporate entity; however, major portions of its operations have undergone strategic transactions. Most notably, EMCORE Corporation completed an all-cash acquisition of KVH's Fiber Optic Gyroscope and Inertial Navigation Systems business segment for approximately $55 million, while KVH itself continues to operate as an independent publicly traded technology company focusing on maritime satellite communications.
