The ownership structure of the Gujarat Titans, a prominent franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has undergone a significant transformation since its inception. Originally, the team was fully acquired and owned by the British private equity and investment advisory firm CVC Capital Partners (operating through their entity Irelia Company Pte Ltd). CVC secured the franchise rights in 2021 with a massive bid of ₹5,625 crore, marking a major entry by a global private equity firm into Indian sports. However, in early 2025, the ownership structure shifted dramatically when the Ahmedabad-based Torrent Group acquired a majority stake in the franchise. Under the new finalized transaction agreement, Torrent Group now holds a controlling 67 percent ownership stake in the Gujarat Titans, making them the primary owners and operators of the team. CVC Capital Partners did not exit completely; instead, they retained a significant 33 percent minority stake in the franchise, ensuring they remain actively involved in the team's long-term commercial growth and valuation upside while sharing operational and financial responsibilities with their local strategic partner.
