Identifying which Honeywell thermostat model you have is important for troubleshooting, finding manuals, and knowing which app to use. The easiest way is to remove the thermostat faceplate from the wall mount by gently pulling it straight off. On the back of the faceplate or on the inside of the wall plate, you will find a sticker with the model number, such as RTH6580WF, TH6220U2000, T5, T6 Pro, T9, T10, RTH9585WF, YTHX9421R5101WW, or similar. If you have a smart thermostat with a touchscreen, you can also find the model in the menu system. Tap Menu, then scroll to Thermostat Information, Device Info, or About, where it will list Model Number, MAC ID, and firmware version. For older non-Wi-Fi rectangular models, the model is often printed on the front at the bottom or inside the battery compartment. You can also identify by features: round dial indicates T87, large color touchscreen indicates Prestige IAQ or RTH9585WF, simple push-button with small screen indicates T4 Pro, and square with soft keys indicates T6 Pro. Once you have the model number, you can search the Honeywell Home support site for the correct manual and app compatibility.
