The world's largest known untapped and undeveloped iron ore deposit is located in the Simandou Mountains, situated in the southeastern region of Guinea, West Africa. Containing billions of tons of exceptionally high-grade iron ore, the massive deposit has historically faced multi-decade development delays due to the immense capital required to build hundreds of kilometers of dedicated railway infrastructure and deep-water port facilities to transport the ore to international markets.
