The state of Maine has produced exceptional women's basketball talent that reached the Women's National Basketball Association. Trailblazing guard Cindy Blodgett, a legendary star at Lawrence High School and the University of Maine, played four seasons in the WNBA during the late 1990s. Additionally, standout forward Mackenzie Holmes, a Gorham High School product and star at Indiana University, advanced to the WNBA with the Seattle Storm, making Maine history.
