Active live football games scheduled for today are restricted entirely to professional preseason exhibition matchups in the National Football League, where teams use summer tune-up games to evaluate roster depth and rookie performances. Because the regular season for both collegiate football and professional leagues has not yet officially commenced in mid-August, traditional team-versus-team regular-season games are not taking place. Fans seeking live gridiron action can tune into televised NFL preseason broadcasts on national networks and streaming platforms, while waiting for the official regular-season kickoffs that will bring college and professional football back to television screens in the coming weeks.
