The classic, old-style Moen single-handle shower valve is the legendary Moen 1200 or 1225 brass cartridge valve system, which dominated residential construction for decades. Unlike modern pressure-balancing Posi-Temp valves, these older legacy models utilize a brass shell housing with a push-pull and rotational handle mechanism to mix hot and cold water. While they lacked integrated anti-scald pressure-balancing features required by newer plumbing codes, millions of these durable brass valve bodies remain fully operational in older homes today.
