The Black Widow spray gun is a line of automotive paint spray guns sold by Harbor Freight under the brand Black Widow, designed as an affordable professional-quality spray gun for auto body painting, priming, and clear coating. Black Widow spray guns are HVLP, high volume low pressure, spray guns that provide efficient paint transfer with less overspray, and are often compared to higher-priced guns like Devilbiss or SATA but at a lower price point around 150 to 200 dollars. There are several models including Black Widow 20 oz HVLP gravity feed spray gun for basecoat and clearcoat, and Black Widow high build primer spray guns with larger fluid tips for thicker primers. Features include stainless steel fluid passages, adjustable fan pattern, fluid control, and air control, ergonomic handle, and multiple tip sizes like 1.3 mm for base and clear and 1.7 to 2.3 mm for primers. They are popular among DIY auto painters, custom car builders, and small body shops because they offer good atomization, smooth finish, and value. Users report they perform well for the price but require proper cleaning and setup. So Black Widow spray gun is essentially Harbor Freight's premium automotive HVLP paint spray gun line for car refinishing.
