What does delta mean in slang?

In slang, delta means several different things depending on the community using it, but most commonly it means to leave, to change, or a specific personality type. In military, aviation, and tech startup slang, to delta or to delta out means to leave or depart quickly. This comes from Delta being the NATO phonetic for D, standing for depart, as in let's delta out of here. In business slang, what is the delta means what is the difference or what changed, as in what is the delta between this proposal and the last one. In options trading slang, delta is used constantly to describe risk, as in I am long delta, meaning bullish, or I need to hedge my delta. In internet personality slang, especially in discussions of alpha, beta, sigma male hierarchy, a delta male is described as someone who is competent, hardworking, and reliable but not seeking dominance, a sort of everyman who keeps society running. This usage is not scientific and is mostly found in online forums. In gaming, delta can mean the difference in skill between players or to exit a server. In some regional US slang, particularly in the Mississippi Delta region, delta can refer to someone from that area. In drug culture, delta sometimes refers to delta-9 THC, the main psychoactive compound in cannabis. So slang meaning depends heavily on context, but leave, difference, and a middle-tier personality are most common.
