Decommissioned or damaged wind turbine blades are notoriously difficult to recycle due to their durable fiberglass and epoxy composite material composition, but several sustainable methods are increasingly being deployed globally. Common practices include shredding blades to use as alternative raw materials in cement manufacturing coprocessing, grinding them down for aggregate filler in construction panels, repurposing structural sections into public park architecture or pedestrian bridges, and advancing chemical recycling technologies.
