While National Hockey League power rankings fluctuate constantly based on recent regular-season play, injuries, and trade deadline acquisitions, the top five best teams in the league generally feature the most recent Stanley Cup Champions and perennial powerhouse contenders. Currently, the absolute upper echelon of the league undeniably includes the Florida Panthers, who boast a suffocating defensive system and an elite offensive core. They are joined by the Edmonton Oilers, whose explosive offensive attack is driven by the generational talents of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. The Dallas Stars also rank highly, possessing arguably the deepest forward group and best elite goaltending in the Western Conference. Rounding out the top five are the New York Rangers, a President's Trophy-caliber squad backed by Igor Shesterkin, and the Colorado Avalanche, an offensive juggernaut continuously propelled by the breathtaking speed of Nathan MacKinnon and Cale Makar.
