Whether there is a fuse for remote start depends on whether you refer to garage door remote start or car remote start, as both have fuses or circuit protection that can blow and prevent operation. For garage door opener remote start, there is no traditional user-replaceable fuse for remote itself, as remote is battery powered, but garage door opener motor unit has internal fuse or fusible link on logic board that protects receiver that remote talks to, and if this fuse blows due to power surge or short, remote will not work even with new battery, requiring logic board replacement costing 150 to 300 dollars, as fuse is soldered onto board. Opener is also protected by household breaker or GFCI outlet that can trip and cut power, acting like fuse, so check breaker panel. For car remote start, there are fuses in fuse box that protect remote start system, typically labeled remote start, ignition, or accessory, located under dash or in engine compartment, and if fuse blown, remote start won't work while manual start may still work, so check fuse box diagram and replace blown fuse with same amperage. Car remote start also has relay and module with internal fuse. Additionally, car key fob has small battery, not fuse. If remote start fails, check fuses first, as blown fuse from power surge or short is common cause. For garage door, unplug opener 30 seconds to reset board that may have tripped thermal overload protector acting like fuse that resets after cooling.
