Yes, Rogers has already taken over Shaw Cable, with Rogers Communications acquiring Shaw Communications including Shaw Cable, Shaw Internet, and Shaw Direct in deal that closed April 3, 2023 for 26 billion dollars including debt, making Shaw part of Rogers. Rogers announced acquisition of Shaw in March 2021 for 20 billion dollars plus 6 billion debt, and after lengthy regulatory review by CRTC, Competition Bureau, and Innovation Canada, deal was approved with condition that Shaw's wireless division Freedom Mobile be sold to Videotron to preserve competition, which happened, and Rogers completed acquisition of Shaw in April 2023. So Rogers taking over Shaw Cable is done, Shaw Cable now owned by Rogers, with Shaw brand still used for internet services in Western Canada as Shaw Internet powered by Rogers, and Shaw customers now Rogers customers, with billing transitioning to Rogers. Shaw Cable services like cable TV and internet continue but under Rogers ownership, with Shaw retail stores rebranded and Shaw email addresses still active but eventually migrating. So answer is yes, Rogers has taken over Shaw Cable, deal closed 2023, making Rogers largest cable provider in Canada with Shaw integration in Alberta, BC, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan.
