Clearwater Paper Corporation as a whole parent entity has not been entirely sold, but the company executed a massive strategic transaction by selling its entire consumer tissue division to the Sofidel Group for approximately 1.06 billion dollars. This major divestiture transferred four major manufacturing tissue plants and thousands of employees to Sofidel, allowing Clearwater Paper to reshape its corporate profile, significantly reduce corporate debt, and refocus its operational resources exclusively on its high-margin bleached paperboard and packaging manufacturing segments.
