To reset an LG oven, whether it is part of a range or a built-in wall oven, you perform a hard power reset that clears temporary electronic glitches, error codes like F9, F19, or F11, and control lock issues. First, turn the oven off using the Clear/Off or Cancel button on the control panel. Then turn off the circuit breaker that supplies the oven in your electrical panel, as LG ovens do not have a power cord you can easily unplug and they run on 240 volts for electric models or 120 volts plus gas for gas models. Leave the breaker off for at least 5 to 10 minutes to allow the main control board and display board capacitors to fully discharge and reset memory. While the breaker is off, press and hold the Clear/Off button for 5 seconds to drain residual charge. After waiting, turn the breaker back on firmly, the display should show PF or be blank, then set the clock by pressing Clock and entering time. Test the oven by running Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes with nothing inside to ensure it heats. To clear Control Lock or child lock, press and hold the Control Lock or Start button for 3 seconds. For persistent F9 error which indicates heating failure, check if the oven was in self-clean and overheated, allow it to cool for an hour before resetting. A reset will not fix mechanical failures like a failed igniter or heating element.
