Getting rid of standing water pooled inside a washing machine drum requires forcing the appliance to drain or manually emptying the tub. First, try activating the electronic "Drain & Spin" cycle on the control panel to let the internal pump expel the water. Second, if the pump is clogged or powerless, lower the external drain hose down into a shallow bucket resting on the floor below the drum level to let gravity siphon the water out. Third, access the lower pump filter door to drain remaining water safely into a pan. You can troubleshoot drainage easily. You can verify that your corrective action is successful when gravity siphoning or activating the pump clears all standing water from the drum completely and leaves the interior dry.
