You should ideally run your air purifier continuously, 24 hours a day, to ensure that the air in your living space remains free of microscopic pollutants, allergens, and dust particles. Because indoor air is constantly being reintroduced to new contaminants from cooking, cleaning, shedding skin, and HVAC circulation, turning the purifier off allows pollutants to build back up quickly. If running it constantly is not preferred, you should at least operate it on high speed for a couple of hours before you plan to occupy the room, or ensure it runs whenever people with allergies or asthma are present. Using a unit with an automatic air quality sensor allows it to adjust its fan speed dynamically based on pollution levels.
