The Stabilus LIFT-O-MAT is a hydropneumatic adjustment element containing a precision steel pressure tube, a piston rod, and an internal charge of high-pressure nitrogen gas acting on differing cross-sectional areas. This constant gas pressure pushes outward to provide seamless force assist. As the piston moves, integrated hydraulic oil circuits or specialized internal grooves provide smooth, controlled speed damping near the end of the stroke to prevent sudden slamming.
