The Alcorn State University athletic department sponsors competitive varsity sports teams that compete within the Southwestern Athletic Conference of NCAA Division I, capturing numerous conference tournament titles, regular-season championships, and historic Black college football national titles awarded by various regional selectors. However, the university has not captured an official consensus NCAA Division I national championship in major team sports.
