Turbinate reduction surgery is primarily performed internally to clear blocked nasal passages and improve breathing functionality, meaning it is not designed to alter the external cosmetic shape, bridge, or profile of your nose. Because the incisions and tissue reductions occur completely inside the nasal cavity, friends and family will not notice any visible changes to your facial appearance. However, in rare instances where turbinate reduction is combined concurrently with an open or closed septoplasty and rhinoplasty procedure, visible external reshaping will occur due to those separate structural modifications.
