The physical process of condensation actually releases heat into the surrounding environment. When invisible water vapor turns into liquid water droplets, it gives up its latent heat of vaporization to nearby surfaces and the adjacent air. Conversely, the reverse process of evaporation absorbs heat, which is why evaporating sweat cools down the human skin and surrounding objects.
