New York Jets owner Robert Wood Johnson IV has a well-documented history as a prominent Republican Party donor and a dedicated supporter of Donald Trump's political campaigns. Reports and financial disclosures indicate that Johnson contributed substantial sums totaling millions of dollars toward Donald Trump's presidential campaigns and inaugural committees. Following Trump's victory in the 2016 election, Johnson's political alignment and financial backing were rewarded when he was nominated and subsequently confirmed to serve as the United States Ambassador to the United Kingdom, a prestigious diplomatic post he held from 2017 until 2021 before returning to his active leadership role with the New York Jets franchise.
