The Davidson College men's basketball program has never won an NCAA Division I National Championship. While the Wildcats have established a proud history with numerous conference championships and multiple postseason appearances, capturing the ultimate national title has remained just out of reach. The closest the program has ever come to claiming the national crown occurred during historic postseason runs where they advanced all the way to the Elite Eight round of the NCAA March Madness tournament—most notably under legendary coach Lefty Driesell in the late 1960s and later during an unforgettable, magical run led by star guard Stephen Curry. Despite those deep tournament pushes and memorable upsets over traditional powerhouse programs, an NCAA championship remains an unachieved milestone for the mid-major program.
