No, you cannot replace a Cutler-Hammer breaker with a Square D breaker. Square D and Cutler-Hammer are manufactured by competing corporations (Schneider Electric versus Eaton) and feature completely incompatible bus bar connection stabs and physical enclosures. Installing a Square D breaker into a Cutler-Hammer panel will not fit or lock securely, violates UL safety listings, and creates severe electrical hazards including arcing, sparking, and potential fires.
