You can buy airless tires yet, but availability depends on vehicle type and application, as airless tires are already commercially available for certain off-road, low-speed, and specialty vehicles, but not yet widely available for regular passenger cars on highways. For lawn mowers, golf carts, skid steers, construction equipment, and bicycles, airless tires are available now from manufacturers like Michelin with Tweel for skid steers and mowers, Amerityre for lawn mower and hand truck airless tires, and various solid rubber tires for industrial use, sold through equipment dealers and online retailers. For passenger cars, you cannot yet buy DOT-approved airless tires for regular highway use at retail tire shops, as no airless tire has received full NHTSA approval for highway passenger cars, though Michelin Uptis is in pilot testing with GM and aiming for commercial release in coming years, currently in limited fleet testing. Some companies sell airless tire inserts or run-flat alternatives but not true airless. For bicycles, airless tires like Tannus are available. So yes, you can buy airless tires for off-road equipment, mowers, and bikes today, but for regular cars on public roads, you cannot yet buy street-legal airless tires for general consumer use, though development is advanced and limited trials exist.
