Whether a Sensi thermostat works without a C-wire depends on your system type. On standard combined heating and cooling systems, Sensi models can use "Power Sharing" across conventional wires to operate without a C-wire. However, a dedicated C-wire is strictly required for heat-only systems, cool-only systems, heat pump systems without auxiliary heat, and when pairing certain models with Apple HomeKit.
