Daphne Bridgerton—played by actress Phoebe Dynevor—is not permanently written out of the Bridgerton universe or permanently forgotten, but her physical presence on screen ended because the actress chose not to return for subsequent seasons after her character's primary storyline concluded. In the narrative framework of the show, Daphne and her husband Simon remain happily married and busy raising their family away from the main London social season, allowing each new season to spotlight a different sibling's romance.
