The legendary rock band Rainbow experienced multiple line-up dissolutions and stylistic shifts over the decades primarily due to creative differences, clashing strong personalities between founder Ritchie Blackmore and various lead vocalists, and fluctuating commercial musical directions. Blackmore frequently rotated musicians to pursue different artistic paths, transitioning from heavy blues-rock sounds toward more accessible commercial radio-friendly hard rock anthems.
