The primary, fiercest historical and athletic rival for the University of Iowa Hawkeyes is the University of Minnesota, with whom they compete annually for the coveted Floyd of Rosedale bronze pig trophy. Additionally, the Hawkeyes share intense traditional rivalry games with in-state foe Iowa State University for the Cy-Hawk Trophy and conference battles with neighboring Big Ten opponents like Nebraska and Wisconsin.
