The absolute primary, fiercest athletic and cultural rival for the Florida State University Seminoles is the University of Florida Gators. Known universally as one of the most storied and fiercely contested annual intersectional college football showdowns, matches between these two premier Florida institutions carry immense regional pride, passionate fan animosity, and national championship implications. Additionally, FSU maintains a deeply intense conference rivalry with the University of Miami, making both programs central figures in the school's competitive history.
