Christo Wiese is married to his wife, Caro Wiese, a well-known Cape Town art collector, publisher, and director at Strauss & Co, who comes from an influential political family as the daughter of prominent politician and journalist J.D. du Plessis (Japie) Basson. The couple married in 1975 after both completing their academic studies at Stellenbosch University.
