When comparing the historical World Series championship tallies between Chicago's two major league baseball franchises, the Chicago White Sox and the Chicago Cubs, the historic totals reflect unique eras of success. The Chicago Cubs have captured three World Series titles across their storied history—most famously breaking their long-standing championship drought in 2016 alongside historic titles in 1907 and 1908. Meanwhile, the Chicago White Sox have secured three World Series championships as well, triumphing in 1906, 1917, and most recently in 2005. This leaves both historic Chicago organizations tied with three World Series titles apiece in the annals of baseball history.
