OQ S.A.O.C. (formerly known as Oman Oil Company) is 100% owned by the Government of the Sultanate of Oman through its state-owned investment vehicle, the Oman Investment Authority (OIA). While the state retains total ultimate holding control of the core integrated energy enterprise, OQ has strategically executed partial initial public offerings (IPOs) and asset divestments for several of its major subsidiaries—such as OQ Gas Networks, Abraj Energy Services, and OQ Exploration and Production (OQEP)—allowing public institutional and retail investors to trade shares on the Muscat Stock Exchange.
