The cargo ship that famously caught fire and subsequently sank in the mid-Atlantic Ocean with nearly 4,000 luxury vehicles on board was the Felicity Ace. The specialized car carrier was travelling from Germany to the United States when a severe fire broke out aboard the vessel. Despite evacuation of the crew and subsequent towing attempts by salvage teams, the ship lost stability and sank roughly 250 miles off the coast of Portugal's Azores islands, taking thousands of high-end Porsches, Volkswagens, Audis, Bentleys, and Lamborghinis to the ocean floor.
