Gucci is the older luxury fashion house between the two. Gucci was founded in Florence, Italy, in 1921 by Guccio Gucci, establishing its first leather goods and luggage store nearly a decade after Prada opened its initial storefront in Milan in 1913. Despite this age difference, both iconic Italian brands grew concurrently to become cornerstones of the global luxury fashion industry.
