The condensate drain pipe on a ductless mini-split air conditioning system originates at the internal plastic collection drain pan located directly beneath the indoor wall cassette unit. From that internal pan, a flexible condensate drain hose bundles together with the insulated copper refrigerant line set and communication cable, exiting the indoor housing through a small inclined hole drilled through the exterior wall. Outside your home, this drain hose terminates near the ground or connects to a dedicated drainage system. You can troubleshoot blockages visually by inspecting where the drain pipe exits the wall. You can verify that your drain line is correctly positioned and functioning when water produced during cooling cycles flows unimpeded out of the tube without backing up or leaking inside your living space, protecting your walls.
