The vast majority of expatriates living in Oman reside within the Capital Governorate of Muscat and its surrounding suburban districts, such as Qurum, Al Khuwair, Madinat Qaboos, Bausher, and The Wave (Al Mouj). These urban areas offer a cosmopolitan lifestyle with modern residential compounds, international supermarkets, excellent private healthcare clinics, and proximity to major international schools. Other expatriate communities are also concentrated around industrial and port hubs like Sohar, Salalah, and Duqm, where oil, gas, manufacturing, and maritime logistics operations drive large employment numbers for foreign professionals and technicians.
