Avery Dennison Corporation was formed through the historic 1990 corporate merger between Avery International Corporation (originally founded by R. Stanton Avery as A.c. Products in 1935) and the major office products manufacturer Dennison Manufacturing Company (founded in 1844). Following the successful combination of these two pioneering adhesive and labeling enterprises, the newly united company officially adopted the name Avery Dennison Corporation.
