There are currently 10 franchises in the National Hockey League that have never managed to capture hockey's ultimate prize, the Stanley Cup, since their inception. This group includes the Buffalo Sabres and Vancouver Canucks, both of which entered the league back in 1970 and hold the unfortunate distinction of experiencing the longest active championship droughts. Other franchises sharing this status include the San Jose Sharks, Ottawa Senators, Nashville Predators, Minnesota Wild, Columbus Blue Jackets, Winnipeg Jets, Seattle Kraken, and the Utah hockey franchise. Several of these teams have reached the championship round only to suffer heartbreaking losses in hard-fought series, leaving their passionate fan bases waiting for their first title.
