Standard comprehensive car insurance policies explicitly exclude several scenarios, including normal mechanical breakdown, tyre punctures and wear-and-tear, damage occurring while the vehicle is driven by an unlisted or underage driver violating policy terms, and incidents involving illegal acts, racing, or driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Additionally, intentional damage caused by the policyholder and commercial ride-share or delivery use (unless specifically endorsed) are excluded.
