Corcept medications are specialized therapies designed to modulate the effects of cortisol by acting as selective glucocorticoid receptor antagonists. Its primary commercialized drug, Korlym (mifepristone), is prescribed to control hyperglycemia secondary to hypercortisolism in adult patients with endogenous Cushing's syndrome who have type 2 diabetes or glucose intolerance and have failed surgery or are not candidates for it. Newer pipeline candidates are investigated for oncology, metabolic disorders like MASH, and neurologic conditions.
