Depending on the specific context, EMS is frequently referred to by alternative titles or expanded operational definitions. In the healthcare and public safety sector, EMS stands for Emergency Medical Services, which is also commonly called paramedic services, ambulance services, or pre-hospital emergency care. In the industrial manufacturing sector, EMS stands for Electronics Manufacturing Services, which is alternately known as electronic contract manufacturing (ECM). In technology and finance, acronym definitions vary widely, including Execution Management Systems for trading platforms or Enterprise Mobility Security for corporate IT infrastructure.
