An A2 motorcycle licence is a mid-tier intermediate motorcycling credential available to riders starting from the age of 19 in various international jurisdictions such as the United Kingdom and Europe. It permits holders to ride motorcycles or scooters with a maximum power output of up to 35 kilowatts (approximately 47 horsepower) and a specific power-to-weight ratio, without needing L-plates or completing a basic training course repeatedly. Riders can pilot factory-built mid-range machines or legally restricted larger motorcycles, allowing them to carry pillion passengers and ride freely on public motorways before eventually progressing to an unrestricted Category A licence.
