A leveller can be called several things depending on its application. In construction and landscaping, it is known as a land grader, screed, or rake attachment. In surveying, it is called a leveling instrument or spirit level. Historically, a supporter of the seventeenth-century English democratic movement was also known simply as a Leveller.
