What has happened to Phoenix Group Holdings, which refers to Phoenix Group Holdings plc which is the large UK life insurance and pension consolidator based in London, FTSE 100 company owning Standard Life, Phoenix Life, and SunLife, is that it has grown significantly through acquisitions and continues to operate as one of UK's largest long-term savings businesses. Originally formed from demutualization of Pearl Assurance dating back to 1782, it became Phoenix Group and listed on London Stock Exchange.
